Hello everyone,
I'm glad to announce that the new Apertis v2023dev1 development release is now available!
Apertis v2023dev1 is the second development release of the Apertis v2023 stable release flow that will lead to the LTS Apertis v2023.0 release in March 2023.
For more details about the Apertis release flows and support periods, see https://www.apertis.org/designs/release-flow/
You can find the full release notes at https://www.apertis.org/release/v2023dev1/releasenotes/
This release ships the linux 5.15 LTS kernel and it is based on Bullseye.
Some highlights for this release:
* Completion of the GPL-3-free modernization This release address the remaining issues caused by the use of outdated packages to avoid GPL-3 code. Now Apertis ships rust-findutils as a replacement for GNU findutils and libedit as a replacement for libreadline as described in [1].
* Build-test packages on OBS before merging The new CI for package build now allows to test proposed merge requests to confirm that packages are built successfully in OBS before merging them, improving the development experience.
